Literacy, numeracy and digital competence are mandatory cross-curricular skills within Curriculum for Wales. At Newport High School all practitioners across the 6 Areas of Learning develop and ensure progression in the skills of Literacy, Numeracy and DCF.

We have two whole school skill strategies that can support learning and skill development. These are: 

• ROW activities
• Skills Toolkits

Underpinning the Skills Toolkits are skills habits that support individual areas in approaching literacy and numeracy skills. E.g., reading comprehension habits.
